Rune Spread - Reading Runes
Runes, like cards or any other oracles, can be used within the context of spreads. Spreads are merely the layout of the questions that are asked when seeking guidance. The most well-known rune spread is the circular rune reading.  Positions 1-12 parallel the meanings of the Houses of the Astrological Wheel, with position 13 representing the querent (the one asking the question).

Select 13 runes at random, and then arrange them as if on the face of a clock. Position 1 is at 9 o’clock, working counterclockwise. The 13th rune goes in the middle of the circle. Upright positions are indicated when the tops of the runes are closest to the center of the circle.
